Terrific term 4

 Terrific term 4 

This term is my last at Wainui and I will miss it very much.I have had a good 5 years at Wainui. I fell in the learning pit many times but my amazing teachers helped me get out. I have become closer to my friends and made some that will last a lifetime.

I have had some amazing experiences and opportunities. I have learned more than I have ever learned before. Each week I nearly learnt a new thing.

This term I have participated in many things like : Athletics (except  for the running and high jump). Kapa Haka, surfing, discovery, drama, jump jam, Intermediate visits, big buddy, wet day monitor and the rat trapping.

I will dearly miss this school I can't believe  my time at this school is up already. 

Marae sleepover

This week my whole school went to Marae ,but only the nui syndicate stayed the night.

Are parents dropet us of at the  Marae at 9 am on thursday with all of are overnight stuff. 

As soon as we got onto the Marae we saw there's beautiful maori designs.We were welcomed onto the Marae by Pupo Albie ,Aunty Buba and Aunty Charlotte,rhey toled as stores and facts about the Marae.

    some of the activities were weaving with flax ,Maori games,handball ,games with a small      cabbage tree trunk and string games. At the end of the day we set up are beds for the night. For diner we had nachos they were amazing. 

We had to do kapa haka performance in front of are parents. then it was time of bed we talked  and read books until 9pm then it is time for bed.

But some people dissed to talked longer.

then it was time to go home.

We all bunched against the back wall of the stage.It was crammed and people were stepping on my toes. Someone whispered to me and said "I have butterflies in my stomach", but i didn't.  I have done millions of these things  before but with more makeup and  more people and more lights! I saw my mum in the audience,  I gave her a little wave and she waved back at me.

Them Hunter  started to sing our first song Tu mai ra as a solo.  We walked in a triangle pushing towards the front of the stage.  Finally I wasn't too squished anymore. Then we all joined in  singing Tu mai ra.  At the end of the song the boys did a  little haka bit.

Then it was time for Puri a nae.  Matiria the kaea yelled "poi kamo". 

We got our poi out and started to sing.  After that we did a few more songs including the haka. We looked the part and we were the part.  We sounded amazing, a bit fast, but we were good.  Overall it was a pretty good day.

Term 3 is speeches , i'm here to show you my speech. my speech is a about  are zoos good for animals? This year was pretty hard so I had help from my mum.This is my 3ed year doing speeches.I am a bit nervous to read my speech to the class but I think I can do it.

This week for sherd book we had to do a map of Naomi, which is a place in are class book that koka Terri reads to my class,the book is called because of winn dixie.It is a great book.The book is about  a girl called Opal who moves to Naomi,she finds winn dixie (The dog).

This week for word work I did WORD Detective It was pretty interesting.I got round about 10 words.  It was hard to find these words. I looked through a dictionary to find these words. This weeks  words had to have igh in it.

Walt Disney is a well known man he created disneyland .

He was the producer for some old Disney movies. Walt Disney invented the Disney movie production. Walt was also dyslexic and had a hard time at school.

Lillian Disney was  walt's wife she lived to 1925–1966.
Together they had two girls. Diane Disney the oldest and
Sharon Disney the youngest. Walt also had a sister Ruth
Flora Disney she lived to 1903-1995.

How a Turbo Diner Works

This piece of work  was a follow up  from my writing group. This  writing will be about the Wallis and Grommit video about the turbo diner.

How a Turbo Diner Works

A Turbo Diner is a machine that will cook your dinner and save you time! If you are lazy, or don’t know how to cook, get yourself a Turbo Diner which will serve deluxe hot and scrumptious meals to your dinner table.

Firstly, insert a coin into the coin slot and twist the crank in the centre of the control panel. Quickly sit down at the table and place your hands on the side rest - don’t be shocked when the wrist clamps lower and clamp you to the chair. The control panel will then light, the dial will flick to full and the Turbo Diner will begin.

The steel trap door above the dinner table will open, and the vacuum will lower onto the table. Watch as your table mess gets sucked into the tube of doom. WARNING - tube of doom will suck everything, so ensure you are strapped in and no valuable items are loose. Next the vacuum will retract into the trap door.

Sit still and watch as your  dinner be served. Warning if your coin runs out of fuel,  not my fault.

Electric Village

On  thursday the 9th of may we went to  electric eillage .

The lady that was giving  us the tour told us a lot of information about now elektroteks and electric vehicles. 

Then she took us into a room to have fun with cool electric stuff.  

We went on electric scooters and controlled robots by using ipads.It was amazing.  

Making it to 100

This week in my maths lesson with Koka Terri  we have been learning about the 9 and 10 roll. It was a bit challenging  but then I got the hang of it and now it is quite fun. My chromebook broke so I made a poster instead of a screencastify. I liked making the poster about the 9 and 10 roll.

Domestic Cat

This week for our priorities I did domestic cat. Domestic cat was a quick write we had to do.
You had to write domestic cat down the side  of your  dook and write worlds that describe a cat that starts with the letters of domestic cat.  This is called an acrostic poem.

Today was a super fun, why you ask? Because my teacher took the whole class down to Hamanatua  stream.We  walked down to the Hamanatua  stream .It was like a jungle  we had push through the thick vegetation taller than me. We were in groups of three or four.My group did about 13 trees and flax.
